We're looking for a Bioprocess Engineer to join our awesome team.

Your experience with bioreactors and analytical instrumentation will make you an essential member of our bioprocess development team. You will be responsible for characterising our novel bioreactor system and optimising process parameters to improve yield. Working alongside a group of brilliant scientists, engineers, and technicians, you’ll be supporting our journey towards large-scale production of cultivated fat.

At every step, you’ll play a huge role in shaping the future of a young and dynamic startup.

As a Bioprocess Engineer, you will work within our R&D team in our brand new tissue culture lab in central London. You will be responsible for characterising our bioreactors and feeding results back to our hardware engineering team for continuous improvements. You will coordinate with our modelling team to introduce new instrumentation to monitor critical parameters in our bench-scale systems. You will design and implement experiments to improve yields of cultivated fat. Your understanding of bioreactors and bioprocess development will make you an essential member of our team.

You should have:

• At least 2 years of bioprocess development experience in industry or a PhD in biochemical engineering, cell biology, biomanufacturing, or a related discipline
• Experience scaling-up mammalian cell culture to bioreactors
• Optimising bioprocess parameters to improve yield
• Experience with analytical instrumentation or assay development for measuring specific culture parameters
• Enthusiasm, curiosity, and drive
  
  

Ideally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:

• Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) software
• Hands-on experience with multiple reactor formats
• Pilot-scale bioreactors
• Data analysis with non-Excel tools (e.g. R, python, Prism)
