About Andium

Do you want to have global impact?

At Andium we help Oil & Gas companies reshape the future, while working toward Net-Zero emission goals. We are building technology that helps the world’s leading energy companies reach their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals through transformative innovation. Along that pathway, we have helped achieve 46% operations cost savings and 65% reduction in emissions.

How do we do it?

Unique in the marketplace, we are an Industrial Internet of Things, IIoT, company that designs, builds, and implements integrated technologies to perform end-to-end methane gas monitoring and tracking, allowing our customers to maximize field resources to resolve situations real-time. Our technologies combine on-site multi-dimensional video with a machine learning/AI-based platform. Our designs are based on past and current performance and where the market is heading. We are financially strong with a clear path for growth.

If this sounds interesting, read on to learn what we are seeking in a Linux Software Engineer.

About the Role:

Andium is seeking a performance-oriented Linux Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a highly technical and high-impact role focused on building low-level, high-performance software systems that interact directly with real-world IIoT hardware.

This position is ideal for someone who’s passionate about C++, Linux internals, and performance-sensitive systems development. You’ll help develop Linux-based applications, optimize system performance, and support GPU-accelerated edge computing environments. While not focused on embedded firmware, this role plays a critical part in shaping the infrastructure that runs our intelligent edge systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ applications on Linux systems.
  • Architect and implement robust, testable software for edge devices handling video streams and data ingestion.
  • Work on Linux networking stack integrations and device driver-level software modules.
  • Collaborate with AI and hardware teams to support GPU-accelerated computing using CUDA and related frameworks.
  • Participate in software architecture planning and conduct code reviews.
  • Support CI/CD workflows for device-level software.
  • Contribute to documentation and internal knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong emphasis on C++ development.
  • Proficiency with Linux systems, including networking stack and device driver frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with CUDA or similar GPU acceleration technologies.
  • Experience with Python for scripting and integration.
  • Exposure to embedded Linux environments such as Yocto.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON data formats.
  • Strong debugging and system optimization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with GStreamer, FFmpeg, or other multimedia frameworks is a plus.
  • Prior work with Nvidia Jetson or similar edge AI platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to IoT protocols such as MQTT is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel development, device tree configuration, or writing custom drivers is a plus.
  • Background in event-driven or distributed system design is a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer vision or signal processing is a plus.
  • Experience with Rust in systems or network programming contexts is a plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-growing sector and help shape the future of IIoT and edge computing.
  • Engage in complex, high-impact projects with real-world applications across industrial environments.
  • Career growth opportunities in a collaborative, technically driven environment.
  • Competitive compensation package, including quality benefits such as health, vision, dental coverage, and more.
  • Generous vacation and sick leave, including paid parental leave.

Compensation Range

$110,000-$180,000 plus competitive equity package.
