Our Mission

At Round, we're putting finance and operations on autopilot. Not another CFO co-pilot - real workflows that think, act, and execute across tools, protocols, and banking rails.

We're combining the power of infrastructure with AI to push the frontiers of what's possible in finance.

Finance teams at SMEs and mid-market companies still run on spreadsheets, email chasing, and manual processes. We're replacing that with an AI-powered financial OS: treasury, payments, AP, FX, and AI agents, all in one platform. Hundreds of businesses already run their finance on Round, and we're backed by leading early-stage VC firms and scouts from a16z, Sequoia, Accel, and Atomico.

We're growing quickly in the UK, and the US is next.

The basics

  • 📍 London, Shoreditch. Hybrid three days a week in the office minimum.
  • 💰 Competitive salary and meaningful equity (EMI scheme). This is a senior hire and the package reflects that. We'll talk through the numbers properly on the first call
  • 🥇 Reporting directly to Pac (CEO), working closely with Hayyaan (CTO) and with the product and GTM teams
  • 🚀 Hire #1 in operations. You own everything that keeps Round running outside of building and selling the product, through our Series A and into new markets
  • 🏖️ 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 🍜 Weekly team lunch, annual offsites, brand new MacBook + whatever else you need to do your job effectively
  • About the role

Round has grown fast. We've gone from a handful of customers to hundreds, the team has roughly doubled in the last year, and we're about to do it again as we raise our Series A and expand into the US and EU. Most of how we run the company was designed when we were a third of the size, and it's starting to creak.

We're hiring someone senior to own all the systems and special projects that sit outside of building or selling the product: our finances, our operating rhythm, fundraising and corporate admin, legal and regulatory work, people operations, resilience and the workplace. Right now the founders do most of this, and that is the constraint we're trying to remove. You'll be our first operations hire, so you're building the function from scratch rather than inheriting one. Your job is to take us through the Series A and into new markets without anything falling over.

This is not a chief of staff role. You're not shadowing the founders, sitting in their meetings and taking notes. You own a function, you make decisions in it, and you're accountable for the outcome. We want someone who has already done this somewhere that scaled and who knows what breaks at 20, 50 and 100 people before it breaks.

We're an FCA-authorised business operating across multiple entities, so the bar for operational rigour is high. Equally, we move fast and we'd rather have good judgement than heavy process. Knowing the difference is most of the job.

You'll work closely with both the product and GTM teams. Because we sell to FDs and CFOs, you'll join customer conversations, events and talks, and you should be one of the most credible people in the room when the buyer is a finance leader. You'll also be one of our most demanding users: running Round's own finances on Round, and feeding what you learn straight back to the product team.

    What you'll own

  • Operating rhythm: All-hands, planning, shared metrics and performance management. Make sure everyone knows what matters and whether we're winning.
  • Resilience: Make sure no critical process depends on one person, and build a proper customer support and success operation. If a process can be automated, automate it. If it can't, document it.
  • People: Onboarding and offboarding, equipment, commission structures and employer brand. Build structures that let people do their best work without turning us into a bureaucracy.
  • Workplace: The office, offsites and socials. Help us build the company culture to be second to none
  • Fundraising and corporate admin: Legals, cap table, ESOP, the data room and investor updates. You'll be a core part of getting our Series A done and keeping us investor-ready after it.
  • Legal and regulatory: Manage our lawyers and advisers, deal with partners, and lead the regulatory, entity and partner work as we explore the US and EU.
  • Finance: Help run Round's finances, so you can learn how our customers (CFOs, founders, finance leads, accountants) use our products and get a deep understanding of their problems. You'll also play a role in GTM, joining customer conversations, events and talks.
  • About you

We care far more about what you've built and scaled than the titles on your CV.

  • You've scaled operations at a fast-growing company before: Ideally somewhere that went from roughly 20 to 100+ people while you were there, and you were one of the people making that work.
  • Around 6 to 10 years of experience: Senior enough to be autonomous from day one, early enough in your career that you still want to build rather than manage.
  • Strong finance foundations: You can run a company's finances properly and you're credible in front of an FD or CFO. A finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or a background in finance, banking or consulting is a big plus.
  • You've been close to a fundraise: You know what a good data room looks like, you've managed a cap table and you can keep investors and lawyers moving.
  • Comfortable with legal and regulatory work: You don't need to be a lawyer, but you can manage lawyers well, read a contract and get to the point that matters.
  • Comfortable owning the people processes: Onboarding, offboarding, performance, commission, difficult conversations, UK employment basics. You don't need an HR background, but you can't be squeamish about this work.
  • You think and build in systems: You see the pattern behind the recurring problem and solve it once.
  • Very high agency: Nobody will hand you a list. You work out what matters most, get moving and tell us what you decided.
  • Genuinely AI-native: You don't just use AI tools, you build with them. Your default answer to a manual process is an agent, an automation or a workflow, and you're already running a good chunk of your own work through Claude, ChatGPT or similar. We sell AI to finance teams, so our own finance and operations should be the best example of what that looks like.
  • Excellent written communication: You can take something complicated and make it clear.
  • No ego about execution: Some of this work is strategic. Some of it is booking the offsite and chasing a signature. You're happy doing both.
  • Nice to have, not required: experience in fintech or another regulated environment (ideally FCA), setting up a US or EU entity, or building a customer support or success function.
